Our Mission:
The Flying Point Foundation for Autism, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is dedicated to creating and supporting programs and services that enrich the lives of children with autism.

Recognizing the limited opportunities for organized activities geared toward children with autism, the Foundation’s main focus is to provide programs that meet this need on the East End. Through our efforts, we will also raise public awareness and understanding of autism, especially among the peers of children who have been diagnosed with the disorder.

The store is now OPEN!
The Puzzle Piece Collection was created especially for Flying Point Foundation for Autism by JillLynn&Co. The collection was designed and handcrafted by JILL LYNN and with each purchase a portion of proceeds will be donated to Flying Point Foundation for Autism. Click here for more pieces.

Introducing

Camp Flying Point
Applications for a one-week summer camp for children with autism & typically developing peers/siblings are now available. A limited number of spaces are available for the camp, which will include swimming, music, art, yoga & recreational sports, with qualified staff in a very low staff-to-camper ratio.

The camp, which will be held at the Ross School in Bridgehampton the week of August 23, is for kids entering first through eighth grade; applications will be acccepted for a Counselor-in-Training program for kids on the spectrum in 9th through 12th grade.
Download application(s) and mail to:
Camp Flying Point
25 Farmstead Lane, Water Mill, NY 11976
The cost is $200 for the first camper in a family, $150 for the second, and $100 for the third. Generous support from individuals, community groups and charitable foundations have allowed us to offer this camp at a very reasonable rate while maintaining the supports needed for campers. No camper will be precluded from attending for financial reasons.

The camp will be staffed with trained and highly qualified providers but there will be no 1:1 aides available. The low camper/counselor ratio should make the camp appropriate for most, but we will determine that on a case-by-case basis.
There are limited spaces available.

Parents please fill out a camper, peer/sibling, CIT application as appropriate. All campers must also submit a medical information form. CIT applicants on the spectrum must also submit a camper application form.

In 2010, the Flying Point run will be an 8K!
Mark your calendar for September 26.

In the news ...
On July 1, Kiwanis Club of Southampton Town presented the Flying Point Foundation with a check for $10,000, part of the proceeds of the club's recent golf outing. At right, Justin McCarthy, organizer of the golf outing, Kim Covell and Kerry Ann Gill of the FPF and Laurie Schneider, president of Southampton Kiwanis.
Jack Motz, son of FPF President Kim Covell, and his friend Nicholas White, raised more than $220 at their lemonade stand set up at Hayground School farmers market. Two days later, Jack set up at Falkowski farm stand in Bridgehampton and made another $107!

The mission of Camp Flying Point is to provide a fun and supportive environment in which children with autism may learn social and communication skills alongside their typically developing peers. Trained staff will facilitate social opportunities among campers to build on existing skills as well as identify strategies to increase communication among peers.
